And then Along Came a Praying Mantis. Barrie Wedding Photography in 3 places: The Tiffin Centre for Conservation, Sunnidale Park, and the Southshore Centre
It was such a pleasure working with Stacey and Adam on their wedding day. They are a couple who are deeply in love with each other and aren’t afraid of expressing honest and heartfelt emotion. I was deeply moved by their reactions when they first saw eachother on the wooden bridge at the Tiffin Centre before the wedding and also by Adam’s response to the gift his parents gave him, commemorating his grandparents. Many couples these days choose to have the majority of their formal photography done ahead of the ceremony to free up time to spend with guests afterwards. We began our photography coverage at the Tiffin Centre for Conservation shooting at a number of beautiful locations–the peninsula, docks, and wooded pathways. After this it was on to the lush gardens at Barrie’s Sunnidale Park, for photos with the wedding party, and then on to Barrie’s gorgeous waterfront wedding venue, the Southshore Centre. This was the stage for family photos, the ceremony and reception, as well as an unexpected green visitor: a sleek praying mantis who decided to land happily on Stacey’s head and then make his way to her bouquet for a light lunch. As the evening slipped away, we were treated to a crimson sunset and later a luminescent downtown skyline. A wedding in 3 places of course required 3 cameras, thus the chronology of the following gallery also implicitly tells the story of which camera was used and when.Recently in Portfolio
